Time to catch up!!

I was informed by Tom it's been September since we last blogged. However, I have at least 3 drafts I never posted so I'll try to play catch up with this one.

In October we flew to Nashville for my Pawpaw's 100th birthday - made it a vacation. The kids had a blast. We spent Thursday sight seeing in Nashville then went to spend the night with my cousin Vicky. On Friday we took the kids to the creek and I was able to tell stories of taking baths in the there and catching minnows with my wash cloth. Saturday was the big day for pawpaw - as the grandsons helped him get ready then drove him to the party escorted by the local police. It was pretty cool. Sunday we flew back home. I made sure the kids got window seats each flight but one. It was a wonderful experience for both of them. (the picture to the left is the kids on the balcony at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville)

On November 5th, Katrina turned 7 years old. We celebrated (along w/8 of her class mates) with a swim party @ the YMCA. They have a cool family swimming pool with a couple of slides. Logan turned 5 on November 25th. He insisted on celebrating @ a McDonalds w/a play area. I gave him the choice of Chuck-E-Cheese or Mcdonald's and we know what he chose. I'll have to admit I was concerned that not many people would show up being so close to Thanksgiving, but we had 9 including his Katrina. My babies are growing up.

Wednesday before Thanksgiving we left Ron at home (he had to work all weekend) and the kids & I drove to Oklahoma. Except for a few arguments (between Katrina & Preston) the trip went really good. Janean & Deryl are so gracious and hospitable - she purchased tickets for the Christmas train. The kids really enjoyed it and even got to see Santa.

I guess in a nut shell, this is pretty much the jist of things happening around Sioux City with the Scotts. My business has been picking up - have several repeat clients. God is really blessing the Scott household. This next year holds a lot of promise for the future.

Anyway, we love and miss each of you. Stay warm and I'll try to blog more often.

Love to all,

One of those Moments!!

Do you ever have those moments where you sense it's just you & God and nothing else at that moment matters? Getting out of the car today to go to the grocery store I had one of those moments - an overwhelming sense that God was right there wanting me to know He's with me. I looked at Logan and said "Logan, I declare today that God is Faithful" - then I had to repeat it "Logan, I have to say it again - I declare today that God is Faithful". Just writing these words at this particular moment stirs my soul!! I have been so busy the past year that I've been too busy to have "one of those moments". But God in his infinite wisdom gave me something today - though simple it may be - that has renewed me. Thank you Lord!!!

We've been working out all the details with the chiropractic office and will finally be starting this Saturday. A joint decision was made to work on Tuesday's, Thursday's & Saturday's while the doctor is in the office because of HIPPA stuff with is patients. I'll be purchasing another table so I can also do home visits. I've already done one & it worked out great.

Well, gotta go clean my carpets with 2 kids & 2 dogs and the fact they were installed when Ron was in high school makes it hard to keep the clean. Hopefully we'll be able to replace them in the near future with hardwood or something equivalent.

We love ya,

Things are Happening!!!!!!

Life has been hectic since I last blogged. I recovered well from my procedure - I go back to the doctor in a couple of weeks for a follow-up.

I should be getting my Massage license next week sometime. Right after I passed my boards, I called our chiropractor to let him know I was looking for a job since I passed my boards. It took him a while to call me back so I wasn't sure if this was God's plan at this time. A few Sunday nights ago we had a special prayer time where we shared our needs with individuals. My request was that God open the door(s) he wanted me to go through. The following Tuesday the doctor called and we met on a Thursday. Things just fell into place. I will be renting a room from him so I'll be an independent contractor. It's been real exciting for Ron & me to plan all the details - he's set a lot of doctors up into practice so he knows all the ins and outs of setting up a business. The name of my practice is "That Added Touch Massage". I'll be able to work around the kids school schedule. I'm planning on doing a mailer to the community to let them know where my practice will be located. The possibilities are endless!! God never ceases to amaze me!! Thank you Lord!!!

Well, better go for now!!
Love ya,

God is Good !!!!!!!!!!!!

I PASSED!!!!!!!!! Yes, I passed my Massage Therapy Boards Saturday. Thanks to everyone's prayers. Now I can apply for my Iowa Massage license after I get certified in CPR/First Aid. Isn't God good?!!!!!!

Yesterday I had my procedure done in the doctor's office. He had a hard time and it was pretty painful - but I made it through. Been a little bloated today but I've been able to get around real good.

Late Saturday afternoon, mom & dad made it in from Oklahoma. They had spent the night w/Janean & Deryl Friday to break up the trip. It's been real good having them here. We went on a picnic today & got ate up by a massive amount of flying ants - needless to say we cut the picnic short. From there mom, dad & Katrina got haircuts then we came home. We've pretty much been taking it easy. Mom & Katrina put a puzzle together - Katrina's getting real good at it. We need to buy her another one - I think she's finally getting bored with this one. Logan's been hanging out w/Papa. They've become pretty good buds!!

Well, I better sign off. Again, I appreciate everyone's prayers, support & most of all encouragement this past year & a half. It was pretty rough at times, but I made it through. God is Good!!!!!!!!

Love & Blessings to all!

PRAISE REPORT!!!!!!

Forgot to put this in my post from yesterday. I have been scheduled to have a hysterectomy this Friday - June 20th due to a fibroid tumor on the back wall of my uterus. On June 3rd, I had a post surgical ultra sound or sonogram - I hadn't had one for over a 1-1/2 years or more and at the time the tumor was at a size that the only option I had was a hysterectomy. I was dreading the long recovery time - over 6 weeks. With a 6 & 4 year old - this was not a good thing & I only had help for 2 weeks then pretty much on my own. I began to pray that God do a miracle and that I wouldn't have to have major surgery. Well a couple of days after my sonogram, I received a call from my doctor. He told me that my tumor had shrunk & I now have other options. The option we choose was a procedure done in the office with a 3-5 day recovery period. PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!!!! Isn't He great?!?!?!?!? He never ceases to amaze me. I'll be having the procedure done on July 21st. Mom & Dad are going to try to come for a few days to help me out while I recover. MY GOD IS AWESOME!!!!!!!

Just wanted to share my GREAT news.

Love Sandy

We can finally breathe!!

Where do I start? On Friday the 13th we closed on Martha's house. The Auction was held May 31st - everything was we had for sale was sold. Some for pennies on the dollar - but at least we didn't have to deal with additional stuff. It was a bitter-sweet emotion. Ron became kinda teary eyed - these things were Martha's life. When we look back, there may have been some things we would have loved to keep, but then we come home & see our crowded basement and realize we were better off without the items.

Everyday for the past 2 weeks I've been cleaning Martha's house - trying to get her house ready for the closing. A week ago Sunday, I smelt a nasty smell in Martha's basement. Upon further investigation we found the shower filled with poo & toilet paper. Disgusting!! So last Monday I spent my day waiting for the Speedy Rooter to come clear out the pipes. $180 later we were good to go. Just a minor set back. Then the appraiser for FHA said we had to chip the paint off along the bottom of one side of the house then all around the shed in the back yard and we could not have any chips on the ground. We took our wet-vac over there & sucked up the paint chips you could have eaten off the ground. Apparently it passed. Friday morning I got the last load - Praise the Lord!!!

Also, since I last wrote, I graduated from Massage Therapy School!!!!! Now all I have to do is take my boards. My plan is to take them by the end of June or first of July so I won't forget what I've learned. I'll also have to take a CPR/Firs Aid class in order to be licensed in Iowa. God is soooooo Gooooood!! Ron & the kids are glad I'm home at night now. I've already had a lady at church ask me if I would come to her house w/my table & do a massage. My hopes are to work in a clinic somewhere. I know God will open the door when that time comes. I'm just ready to get my house organized. It's been neglected the past month or so with school and getting ready to sell Martha's house.

Better go for now - God is doing some awesome things in our lives & we can't wait to see what's next!!

Love to all & blessings,
Ron, Sandy, Katrina, Logan, Oreo & Abby (our new puppy)

LIFE IS GREAT!!!!!

The count down for school begins - only 4 weeks to go!!! YEAAAAAAAAA I had 3 major test and passed all 3 a couple of weeks ago. I took last Friday and Saturday following the test to clean my house since it had been neglected for several weeks. Still have winter clothes sorting to do but will get there when I can. Met with an auctioneer and have set the auction for May 30th. Haven't had the ambition to sort through things - only done a couple of cabinets in the kitchen. Have a lot more things to go through.

This past Friday night we had an interested party look at Martha's house - we think he's going to buy it. Our attorney said it sounded like a good amount and we don't have to pay Realtor cost. It was kind of a fluke - the mother to this guy was walking down the street and started asking a neighbor about the house. She was unable to help her so she gave her the name of the neighbors just up from her (they were always the ones helping Martha). They were able to give her a lot of information about the house then gave her our number. We met with him Friday night and he was very interested in the house. Ron will call the guy to let him know we've talked to our attorney and it's okay to move forward w/everything - he's already approved with the bank as well. This is nothing but a God Thing!!

Anyway, just wanted to share our good news!!

Love to all and to all those moms out there - if I don't get back on here before then - have a Happy Mother's Day
